My Baby Was Born with Teeth: A Unique Journey
When my baby arrived, we were filled with joy and excitement, but nothing could prepare us for the surprise that
greeted us: he was born with teeth! While it’s rare, natal teeth occur in about one in every 2,000 to 3,000 births.
Initially, we were taken aback, but soon we realized how special this little quirk made our baby.
Having teeth at birth brought a mix of emotions. On one hand, I felt a sense of pride; it seemed to hint at his
strong genetic makeup. On the other hand, I worried about the implications for feeding and dental care.
Thankfully, our pediatrician reassured us that this was generally not a cause for concern, though we needed to
monitor the teeth closely.
As he grew, we learned to embrace this uniqueness. His smile, complete with those tiny teeth, became a source
of joy and laughter for our family. We documented every milestone, from his first coos to his first foods, all while
marveling at how those little teeth made him stand out even more.
Adjusting to this unusual start was a journey. While every parent hopes for a healthy baby, my son’s early arrival
of teeth reminded me that every child is unique in their own way. As we navigate parenthood, we cherish this
little quirk, celebrating our son’s individuality and the joy he brings to our lives. Each day is a new adventure, and
we can’t wait to see what’s next!
